Start by getting off your computer – Wait! not now. After reading this post : )
1- gEt diScOnNeCted from present – present time, present location, present ideas, present situation and circumstances. Think of future (or past if you prefer), think you are somewhere else, and think there are no limitations about what’s possible and what’s not. Don’t even think about the problem at hand. Jus think of solutions – nice, interesting, refereshing solutions.
2- tRY cOmBiNaTioN. Try and imagine the combination of 2 or more things, that may even seem totally unrelevant. It even helps to look at unrelated books, fields, and magazines.
3. gO oFF-rOAd. There is no danger to go off-road in your imaginations – at least no physical threat. Don’t just assume that you have to go up and down, left or right, on the road ahead. This is the path everyone takes. If you want to have creative ideas, don’t be scared to take a different path. Creativity often comes with courage, and confidence. Don’t be afraid to discover – at least in imagination.
4. dOn’T LiSteN to fEeDbACk! If you really want to be creative and get great reward, don’t ask for and don’t listen to feedback!
5. dO aSk OtHeRS. Creativity could be anywhere and is everywhere. You should truly believe in this to get result. Next time you have a great idea, it could come from a receptionist, postman, a bird, or the closest friend or coworker next to you.
6. BReaK rOUtiNEs. Change recipes, where you seat, what you eat, drink, and even what you write on.
7. read, listen, join a new class and try new things. go for a walk, think of nature, and have notebook with you.
Here’s a simple exercise to get you going:
Think of a sentence that you have never said, or dared to say, or didn’t think is realistic to say, ask or want!
Mine: I like to walk on Space.

Thanks for the great great article. I am an artist and need to be creative but recently had problem getting creative and going beyond what exists. This article is very well written and I’ll try to think of one thing that doesn’t exist, every day, and maybe paint or draw it :)Thanks again….
